ITS Seminars
In addition to full seminary courses, the Institute of Theological Studies is releasing select lecture series or seminars to meet several demands in the educational and ministry contexts. These include:
- Seminaries and Universities who are building their own distance learning courses and need "building blocks" to fill in gaps.
- Churches and small groups who wish to study advanced biblical and theological material without the cost and commitment of a full 24-lecture course.
- Serious lay students or spouses of students who want to study the Bible and theology on an advanced level.
- Leadership training programs who need focused material to supplement what their students are already doing.
- Pastors and ministry leaders who have their degrees but want continuing education in a convenient, cost-effective way.
ITS Seminars feature respected scholars and theologians consistent with our current roster but are unique in several ways:
- Less Lecture Time: An ITS seminar may be as short as 2 lectures long.
- No Syllabus: ITS seminars will not include a syllabus as they are not designed to earn credit. However, if incorporated into a course with other learning elements, ITS seminars can easily become the backbone of a course.
- Pre- and Post-Lecture Reflection/Discussion Questions: ITS seminars include strategic questions before and after each lecture to assist small group leaders and individuals in considering what they believe about a topic before hearing the lecturer's thoughts and then guiding reflection and application. Engaged thoughtfully, this kind of learning experience offers the listener an opportunity to address real life issues in a practical way.
