ITS Foundations Series
ITS has been asked to address a growing need. While we already provide graduate level curriculum for thousands of students worldwide, we have received numerous requests for ITS-quality courses on the "pre-graduate" level. These requests have come from:
- The Evangelical Seminary Deans' Council: An increasing number of students do not have undergraduate Bible degrees, yet they are required to jump right into seminary classes. A few quality "pre-requisite" courses could fill the larger gaps.
- International schools and training centers: ITS International assists students worldwide with its current curriculum. Yet for many internationals, certain courses that fall between a North American bachelors and masters level would be a more appropriate advanced level.
In response to these requests, we have started a series of courses that will be released over the next several years, the ITS Foundations Series. These foundations courses will cover key topics, bring incoming students up to speed and provide upper-level undergraduate curriculum for international and domestic schools. They will be especially flexible for multiple uses, including:
- Pre-requisite Seminary Courses: For students who are not ready for regular seminary classes.
- Student Recruitment: For students who are unsure about coming to seminary and would benefit from trying a course at home (which will also prepare them in the meantime).
- Undergraduate courses: With the Three-Track syllabus (see below) included in each course, students in colleges or universities can use these in preparation for seminary or to earn seminary credit ahead of time.
- International use: As noted above, students around the world can benefit from courses at this level.
- Church Leader Development: Churches can easily use these courses for their leadership or teacher training.
- Individual/Group Study: Serious lay students or spouses of students who want more than the typical devotional or popular book can listen and discuss foundational topics presented by respected seminary scholars.
Three-Track Syllabus: Besides presenting the material at a foundational level, ITS Foundations Courses contain a three-track syllabus with assignments and grading already written for three levels of accreditation:
- Track One: Full graduate course (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours)
- Track Two: Full undergraduate course (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours)
- Track Three: Short graduate course (1 semester hour or 2 quarter hours)
